DANCE PROGRAMS OFFRERED Parent / Tot (age 2-3) | Similar to our Preschool I program with the helping hands of a parent. This class does not participate in recital. | Preschool I (age 3-4) | Our Preschool I program is designed to encourage a child’s natural movement and muscle development through music, creative songs and dance. Though mostly ballet, in January dancers in PSI will also begin tap. | Preschool II (age 4-5)Kindercombo (age 5-6) | These classes provide the young dancer with an excellent foundation that includes ballet and tap, as well as an introduction to jazz. | | Ballet | Because it is the foundation of all dance forms, we strongly encourage students to study ballet. Body placement and flexibility are taught and developed though barre, center and allegro work. Our leveling system includes Pre-Ballet, Elementary Ballet I-V, Intermediate Ballet I-V, and Advanced Ballet. Once dancers advance to the intermediate level, they are required to take a minimum of two classes per week. | | Pointe | Point work is offered to students by teacher recommendation. Students must have a minimum of three years of ballet and at least 11 years old (12 is better). Students participating in Pointe classes must also take two ballet classes. | | Jazz | These classes expose students to various styles of Jazz dance including lyrical, hip-hop, and traditional. Various levels of classes are available for children and teens. | | Tap | The many styles of tap dance are explored in these classes. Like Jazz, classes for children and teens are available in levels from Tap I though V, as well as intermediate and advanced levels. | | Tumble | Tumble begins with teaching the foundation of form, technique, and strength, as so dancers can continually progress in their work. Center mat work is done in addition to traveling passes. Leveling is based on teacher recommendation. | Modern
| Various styles of modern are explored while working to strengthen core muscles, increase stability, and strengthen overall movement. For Intro to Modern, students must have completed Pre-Ballet I, Pre-Ballet II, or be teacher recommended. | | Hip Hop | Beginning as early as 6-1/2 with Intro to Hip Hop, students will learn the staple steps of hip hop. As the students progress, the classroom material begins to vary while exposing students to different styles of hip hop. | Musical Theater | These classes expose dancers to the many styles of Musical Theater. Along with the traditional dance variations, drama and singing are also explored. | | Zumba | Zumba fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow your away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba Fanatics achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life! | | Yoga | MHDC is also now home to primary owner and instructor Robin Skudlarek's YogaBody Fitness. Yoga, Power Yoga, and Pilates/Sculpt classes are all offered for the beginner to advance yogis. For more information, visit http://www.yogabodyfitness.com |

MHDC has been supporting the NHMAW foundation for 11 years. In that time, through an annual performance done in February, the MHDC teams have granted 15 wishes for children who suffer from life threatening illnesses. A $1700 donation was also made in memory of one the studio's young dancers. In total MHDC has made donations in excess of $70,000. This event continues to be an important part of MHDC's mission and calendar.
